‘The Parade’ - The Animated Life Blog
"We can’t help it. We are fascinated by faces and bodies alike. Every face tells a story, and the story is a mystery. The clues abound and we read them instinctively in the blink of an eye. We categorize one another as bums, businessmen, tourists, models, etc., almost unconsciously."

Remind me: Which political party is "decadent" and "sick"?
"Even after confessing to the most flagrant and colorful fornication, the worst that a conservative must anticipate is a stern scolding, followed by warm assurances of God's forgiveness and a swift return to business as usual."

The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien - Phil Jackson (06/19/09)
Always interesting to hear Phil Jackson speak about his philosophy and basketball. The most interesting bit, though, is when he talks about his first Bulls team of the early 90s and how malleable each player was even though they weren't dominate individually (other than MJ).
The idea that a dominate team requires each player to capable of many roles is very much in line with the concept of Total Football employed by the Dutch in the 70s (Cryuff) and now Arsene Wenger at Arsenal. I think it's no coincidence that I've always admired Phil Jackson's teams for this very reason.
